The Camfield

Set beside the Swan River at the base of Optus Stadium, The Camfield makes the most of its Burswood setting, with views towards Perth’s city skyline and Matagarup Bridge. The venue is built on a substantial scale: it describes itself as Australia’s largest pub, with five bars, 175 beer taps, an onsite micro-brewery and a large beer garden that includes a container bar. It is also around 100 metres from Optus Stadium, making it a practical meeting point before or after a stadium visit, although table, group and function bookings are not accepted on stadium event days.

There are several distinct areas to choose from, including The Canteen, The Terraces, the Beer Garden, The Hall and The Brewery. That range gives the venue flexibility for different occasions, from a smaller lunch or dinner booking to a larger celebration or organised event. The Camfield says its functions team can help shape an arrangement around group size, date, location and budget, with the venue able to host anything from a booking for six to events of up to 600 people. Its overall stated capacity is 3,000, and the site lists birthdays, reunions, music events, corporate functions, staff development days, after-work drinks, mothers’ group catch-ups and weddings among the occasions it hosts.

Food is served in a share-style format across the venue, suited to groups who want to order grazing dishes alongside more substantial pub meals. The menu includes familiar options such as the Camfield Angus Beef Burger, Chicken Parmi, Beer Battered NZ Hoki & Chips and a 300g Arlo Great Southern Scotch Fillet, along with salads, pizzas, burgers and smaller plates. For sharing, the Fried Chicken Wings, Mozzarella Arancini, Pulled Beef Sliders and Charred Lamb Skewers offer a selection of group-friendly choices. There are also Little Nibblers options and ice cream for younger diners, while dietary information and allergen warnings are provided on the menu.

Beer is a central part of the venue’s identity. The Camfield operates a Little Creatures micro-brewery onsite through a partnership with the West Australian brewery, with its signature beers available alongside seasonally changing brews. Since opening in 2018, the venue has positioned itself as a broad-purpose meeting place rather than a small, quiet bar: it suits groups, functions, casual meals and drinks, families looking for a substantial venue, and visitors wanting a beer garden near the stadium precinct. Smaller bookings are catered for too, though the expansive layout and event focus are most evident when the venue is busy.
